14:11

Saidto themtheir MessengersNotwe (are)buta humanlike youbutAllahbestows His GraceonwhomHe willsofﱐﱑHis slavesAnd notisfor usthatwe bring youan authorityexceptby the permission of Allahﱚﱛby the permission of AllahAnd uponAllahso let put (their) trustthe believers(11)

Their messengers said to them, “We are ˹indeed˺ only humans like you, but Allah favours whoever He chooses of His servants. It is not for us to bring you any proof without Allah’s permission. And in Allah let the believers put their trust.

14:12

And what(is) for usthat notwe put our trustuponAllahwhile certainlyHe has guided usﱩﱪto our waysAnd surely we will bear with patienceonwhatﱮﱯharm you may cause usAnd uponAllahso let put (their) trustthe ones who put (their) trust(12)

Why should we not put our trust in Allah, when He has truly guided us to ˹the very best of˺ ways? Indeed, we will patiently endure whatever harm you may cause us. And in Allah let the faithful put their trust.”

14:13

And saidthose whodisbelievedto their MessengersSurely we will drive you outofour landorsurely you should returntoﱿﲀour religionSo inspiredto themtheir LordWe will surely destroythe wrongdoers(13)

The disbelievers then threatened their messengers, “We will certainly expel you from our land, unless you return to our faith.” So their Lord revealed to them, “We will surely destroy the wrongdoers,

14:14

And surely We will make you dwell(in) the landafter themﲊﲋafter themThat(is) for whoeverfearsstanding before Meand fearsMy Threat(14)

and make you reside in the land after them. This is for whoever is in awe of standing before Me and fears My warning.”

14:15

And they sought victoryand disappointedeverytyrantobstinate(15)

And both sides called for judgment, so every stubborn tyrant was doomed.

14:16

of himAhead(is) Helland he will be made to drinkofwaterpurulent(16)

Awaiting them is Hell, and they will be left to drink oozing pus,

14:17

He will sip itbut nothe will be near(to) swallowing itAnd will come to himthe deathfromeverysidebut notheﲬﲭwill dieAnd ahead of himAnd ahead of him(is) a punishmentharsh(17)

which they will sip with difficulty, and can hardly swallow. Death will overwhelm them from every side, yet they will not ˹be able to˺ die. Awaiting them still is harsher torment.

14:18

(The) example(of) those whodisbelieveﲶﲷin their Lordtheir deeds(are) like ashesblows furiouslyon itthe windina dayﲿﳀstormyNocontrol (they have)of whatthey have earnedonﳆﳇanythingThat[it](is) the strayingfar(18)

The parable of the deeds of those who disbelieve in their Lord is that of ashes fiercely blown away by wind on a stormy day. They will gain nothing from what they have earned. That is ˹truly˺ the farthest one can stray.
