19:26
ﱁSo eatﱂand drinkﱃand coolﱄﱅ(your) eyesﱆAnd ifﱇyou seeﱈfromﱉhuman beingﱊanyoneﱋthen sayﱌIndeed, Iﱍ[I] have vowedﱎto the Most Graciousﱏa fastﱐso notﱑI will speakﱒtodayﱓ(to any) human beingﱔ(26)
So eat and drink, and put your heart at ease. But if you see any of the people, say, ‘I have vowed silence1 to the Most Compassionate, so I am not talking to anyone today.’”
19:27
ﱕThen she cameﱖwith himﱗ(to) her peopleﱘﱙcarrying himﱚThey saidﱛO MaryamﱜCertainlyﱝyou (have) broughtﱞan amazing thingﱟan amazing thingﱠ(27)
Then she returned to her people, carrying him. They said ˹in shock˺, “O Mary! You have certainly done a horrible thing!
19:28
ﱡO sisterﱢ(of) HarunﱣNotﱤwasﱥyour fatherﱦan evil manﱧan evil manﱨand notﱩwasﱪyour motherﱫunchasteﱬ(28)
O sister of Aaron!1 Your father was not an indecent man, nor was your mother unchaste.”
19:29
ﱭThen she pointedﱮﱯto himﱰThey saidﱱHowﱲ(can) we speakﱳ(to one) whoﱴisﱵinﱶthe cradleﱷa childﱸ(29)
So she pointed to the baby. They exclaimed, “How can we talk to someone who is an infant in the cradle?”
19:30
ﱹHe saidﱺIndeed, I amﱻa slaveﱼ(of) AllahﱽHe gave meﱾthe Scriptureﱿand made meﲀa Prophetﲁ(30)
Jesus declared, “I am truly a servant of Allah. He has destined me to be given the Scripture and to be a prophet.
19:31
ﲂAnd He (has) made meﲃblessedﲄwhereverﲅwhereverﲆI amﲇand has enjoined (on) meﲈ[of] the prayerﲉand zakahﲊas long as I amﲋas long as I amﲌaliveﲍ(31)
He has made me a blessing wherever I go, and bid me to establish prayer and give alms-tax as long as I live,
19:32
ﲎAnd dutifulﲏto my motherﲐand notﲑHe (has) made meﲒinsolentﲓunblessedﲔ(32)
and to be kind to my mother. He has not made me arrogant or defiant.
19:33
ﲕAnd peace (be)ﲖon meﲗ(the) dayﲘI was bornﲙand (the) dayﲚI will dieﲛand (the) DayﲜI will be raisedﲝaliveﲞ(33)
Peace be upon me the day I was born, the day I die, and the day I will be raised back to life!”
19:34
ﲟThatﲠ(was) Isaﲡ(the) sonﲢﲣ(of) Maryamﲤa statementﲥ(of) truthﲦthat whichﲧabout itﲨthey disputeﲩ(34)
That is Jesus, son of Mary. ˹And this is˺ a word of truth, about which they dispute.
19:35
ﲪNotﲫ(it) isﲬfor AllahﲭthatﲮHe should takeﲯany sonﲰﲱany sonﲲﲳGlory be to HimﲴWhenﲵHe decreesﲶa matterﲷthen onlyﲸHe saysﲹto itﲺBeﲻand it isﲼ(35)
It is not for Allah to take a son! Glory be to Him. When He decrees a matter, He simply tells it, “Be!” And it is!
19:36
ﲽAnd indeedﲾAllahﲿ(is) my Lordﳀand your Lordﳁﳂso worship HimﳃThisﳄ(is) a pathﳅstraightﳆ(36)
˹Jesus also declared,˺ “Surely Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him ˹alone˺. This is the Straight Path.”
19:37
ﳇBut differedﳈthe sectsﳉfrom among themﳊﳋfrom among themﳌso woeﳍto those whoﳎdisbelieveﳏfromﳐ(the) witnessingﳑ(of) a Dayﳒgreatﳓ(37)
Yet their ˹various˺ groups have differed among themselves ˹about him˺, so woe to the disbelievers when they face a tremendous Day!
19:38
ﳔHow they will hearﳕHow they will hearﳖand how (they will) seeﳗ(the) Dayﳘﳙthey will come to Usﳚbutﳛthe wrongdoersﳜtodayﳝ(are) inﳞerrorﳟclearﳠ(38)
How clearly will they hear and see on the Day they will come to Us! But today the wrongdoers are clearly astray.
