29:64

And not(is) thislife(of) the worldbutamusementﱇﱈand playAnd indeedthe Home(of) the Hereafter surely, itﱍﱎ(is) the lifeif onlytheyknow(64)

This worldly life is no more than play and amusement. But the Hereafter is indeed the real life, if only they knew.

29:65

And whenthey embark[in]the shipthey callAllah(being) sincereto Him(in) the religionBut whenHe delivers themtothe landbeholdtheyassociate partners (with Him)(65)

If they happen to be aboard a ship ˹caught in a storm˺, they cry out to Allah ˹alone˺ in sincere devotion. But as soon as He delivers them ˹safely˺ to shore, they associate ˹others with Him once again˺.

29:66

So that they may deny[in] whatWe have given themﱧﱨand they may enjoy (themselves)But soonthey will know(66)

So let them be ungrateful for all We have given them, and ˹let them˺ enjoy themselves ˹for now˺! For they will soon know.

29:67

Do notthey seethat Wehave madea Sanctuarysecurewhile are being taken awaythe peoplearound themﱵﱶaround themThen do in (the) falsehoodthey believeand in (the) Favor(of) Allahthey disbelieve(67)

Have they not seen how We have made ˹Mecca˺ a safe haven, whereas people ˹all˺ around them are snatched away?1 How can they then believe in falsehood2 and deny Allah’s favours?

29:68

And who(is) more unjustﱿthan (he) whoinventsagainstAllaha lieordeniesthe truthwhenﲈﲉit has come to himIs there notinHellan abodefor the disbelievers(68)

And who does more wrong than those who fabricate lies against Allah or reject the truth after it has reached them? Is Hell not a ˹fitting˺ home for the disbelievers?

29:69

And those whostrivefor UsWe will surely, guide themﲔﲕ(to) Our waysAnd indeedAllahsurely (is) withthe good-doers(69)

As for those who struggle in Our cause, We will surely guide them along Our Way. And Allah is certainly with the good-doers.

30. Ar-RumThe Romans

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful

30:1

Alif Lam Meem(1)

Alif-Lãm-Mĩm.

30:2

Have been defeatedthe Romans(2)

The Romans have been defeated

30:3

In(the) nearestlandBut theyafteraftertheir defeatwill overcome(3)

in a nearby land.1 Yet following their defeat, they will triumph

30:4

Withina fewﲫﲬyearsFor Allah(is) the commandbeforebeforeand afterﲲﲳand afterAnd that daywill rejoicethe believers(4)

within three to nine years.1 The ˹whole˺ matter rests with Allah before and after ˹victory˺. And on that day the believers will rejoice

30:5

With (the) helpﲹﲺ(of) AllahHe helpswhomﲽﲾHe willsﲿAnd He(is) the All-Mightythe Most Merciful(5)

at the victory willed by Allah. He gives victory to whoever He wills. For He is the Almighty, Most Merciful.
