33:36

ﱁAnd notﱂ(it) isﱃfor a believing manﱄand notﱅ(for) a believing womanﱆwhenﱇAllah has decidedﱈAllah has decidedﱉand His Messengerﱊa matterﱋthatﱌ(there) should beﱍfor themﱎ(any) choiceﱏaboutﱐﱑtheir affairﱒAnd whoeverﱓdisobeysﱔAllahﱕand His Messengerﱖcertainlyﱗhe (has) strayedﱘ(into) errorﱙclearﱚ(36)

It is not for a believing man or woman—when Allah and His Messenger decree a matter—to have any other choice in that matter.1 Indeed, whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has clearly gone ˹far˺ astray.

33:37

ﱛAnd whenﱜyou saidﱝto the oneﱞAllah bestowed favorﱟAllah bestowed favorﱠon himﱡand you bestowed favorﱢon himﱣKeepﱤto yourselfﱥyour wifeﱦand fearﱧAllahﱨBut you concealedﱩwithinﱪyourselfﱫwhatﱬAllahﱭ(was to) discloseﱮAnd you fearﱯthe peopleﱰwhile Allahﱱhas more rightﱲthatﱳﱴyou (should) fear HimﱵSo whenﱶendedﱷZaidﱸfrom herﱹnecessary (formalities)ﱺWe married her to youﱻso thatﱼnotﱽthere beﱾonﱿthe believersﲀany discomfortﲁconcerningﲂthe wivesﲃ(of) their adopted sonsﲄwhenﲅthey have endedﲆfrom themﲇﲈnecessary (formalities)ﲉAnd isﲊ(the) Commandﲋ(of) Allahﲌaccomplishedﲍ(37)

And ˹remember, O  Prophet,˺ when you said to the one1 for whom Allah has done a favour and you ˹too˺ have done a favour,2 “Keep your wife and fear Allah,” while concealing within yourself what Allah was going to reveal. And ˹so˺ you were considering the people, whereas Allah was more worthy of your consideration. So when Zaid totally lost interest in ˹keeping˺ his wife, We gave her to you in marriage, so that there would be no blame on the believers for marrying the ex-wives of their adopted sons after their divorce. And Allah’s command is totally binding.

33:38

ﲎNotﲏ(there can) beﲐuponﲑthe Prophetﲒanyﲓdiscomfortﲔin whatﲕAllah has imposedﲖAllah has imposedﲗﲘon himﲙ(That is the) Wayﲚ(of) Allahﲛconcerningﲜthose whoﲝpassed awayﲞbeforeﲟﲠbeforeﲡAnd isﲢ(the) Commandﲣ(of) Allahﲤa decreeﲥdestinedﲦ(38)

There is no blame on the Prophet for doing what Allah has ordained for him. That has been the way of Allah with those ˹prophets˺ who had gone before. And Allah’s command has been firmly decreed.

33:39

ﲧThose whoﲨconveyﲩ(the) Messagesﲪ(of) Allahﲫand fear Himﲬand (do) notﲭfearﲮanyoneﲯexceptﲰﲱAllahﲲAnd sufficient is AllahﲳAnd sufficient is Allahﲴ(as) a Reckonerﲵ(39)

˹That is His way with˺ those ˹prophets˺ who deliver the messages of Allah, and consider Him, and none but Allah. And sufficient is Allah as a ˹vigilant˺ Reckoner.

33:40

ﲶNotﲷisﲸMuhammadﲹ(the) fatherﲺ(of) anyoneﲻofﲼyour menﲽbutﲾ(he is the) Messengerﲿ(of) Allahﳀand Sealﳁﳂ(of) the ProphetsﳃAnd Allah isﳄAnd Allah isﳅof everyﳆthingﳇAll-Knowerﳈ(40)

Muḥammad is not the father of any of your men,1 but is the Messenger of Allah and the seal of the prophets. And Allah has ˹perfect˺ knowledge of all things.

33:41

ﳉO you who believeﳊO you who believeﳋO you who believeﳌRememberﳍAllahﳎ(with) remembranceﳏmuchﳐ(41)

O believers! Always remember Allah often,

33:42

ﳑAnd glorify Himﳒmorningﳓand eveningﳔ(42)

and glorify Him morning and evening.

33:43

ﳕHeﳖ(is) the One Whoﳗsends His blessingsﳘupon youﳙand His Angelsﳚso that He may bring you outﳛfromﳜthe darkness[es]ﳝtoﳞﳟthe lightﳠAnd He isﳡto the believersﳢMercifulﳣ(43)

He is the One Who showers His blessings upon you—and His angels pray for you—so that He may bring you out of darkness and into light. For He is ever Merciful to the believers.
