48:1

ﱁIndeedﱂWe have given victoryﱃto youﱄa victoryﱅclearﱆ(1)

Indeed, We have granted you a clear triumph ˹O Prophet˺1

48:2

ﱇThat may forgiveﱈfor youﱉAllahﱊwhatﱋprecededﱌofﱍyour sinsﱎand whatﱏwill followﱐand completeﱑHis favorﱒupon youﱓand guide youﱔ(to) a PathﱕStraightﱖ(2)

so that Allah may forgive you for your past and future shortcomings,1 perfect His favour upon you, guide you along the Straight Path,

48:3

ﱗAnd Allah may help youﱘAnd Allah may help youﱙ(with) a helpﱚmightyﱛ(3)

and so that Allah will help you tremendously.

48:4

ﱜHeﱝ(is) the One Whoﱞsent downﱟ[the] tranquilityﱠin(to)ﱡ(the) heartsﱢ(of) the believersﱣthat they may increaseﱤ(in) faithﱥwithﱦﱧtheir faithﱨAnd for Allahﱩ(are the) hostsﱪ(of) the heavensﱫﱬand the earthﱭand Allahﱮand Allahﱯ(is) All-KnowerﱰAll-Wiseﱱ(4)

He is the One Who sent down serenity upon the hearts of the believers so that they may increase even more in their faith. To Allah ˹alone˺ belong the forces of the heavens and the earth. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

48:5

ﱲThat He may admitﱳthe believing menﱴand the believing womenﱵ(to) Gardensﱶflowﱷfromﱸunderneath themﱹthe riversﱺ(to) abide foreverﱻthereinﱼand (to) removeﱽfrom themﱾﱿtheir misdeedsﲀand isﲁthatﲂwithﲃAllahﲄa successﲅgreatﲆ(5)

So He may admit believing men and women into Gardens under which rivers flow—to stay there forever—and absolve them of their sins. And that is a supreme achievement in the sight of Allah.

48:6

ﲇAnd He (may) punishﲈthe hypocrite menﲉand the hypocrite womenﲊand the polytheist menﲋand the polytheist womenﲌwho assumeﲍabout Allahﲎan assumptionﲏﲐevilﲑUpon themﲒ(is) a turnﲓﲔ(of) evilﲕand Allah's wrath (is)ﲖand Allah's wrath (is)ﲗupon themﲘand He has cursed themﲙand preparedﲚfor themﲛﲜHellﲝand evilﲞ(is the) destinationﲟ(6)

Also ˹so that˺ He may punish hypocrite men and women and polytheistic men and women, who harbour evil thoughts of Allah.1 May ill-fate befall them! Allah is displeased with them. He has condemned them and prepared for them Hell. What an evil destination!

48:7

ﲠAnd for Allahﲡ(are the) hostsﲢ(of) the heavensﲣﲤand the earthﲥand Allahﲦand Allahﲧ(is) All-MightyﲨAll-Wiseﲩ(7)

To Allah ˹alone˺ belong the forces of the heavens and the earth. And Allah is Almighty, All-Wise.

48:8

ﲪIndeed, Weﲫ[We] have sent youﲬ(as) a witnessﲭand (as) a bearer of glad tidingsﲮand (as) a warnerﲯ(8)

Indeed, ˹O Prophet,˺ We have sent you as a witness, a deliverer of good news, and a warner,

48:9

ﲰThat you may believeﲱin Allahﲲand His Messengerﲳand (may) honor himﲴﲵand respect himﲶand glorify Himﲷmorningﲸand eveningﲹ(9)

so that you ˹believers˺ may have faith in Allah and His Messenger, support and honour him, and glorify Allah morning and evening.1
