94:3

Whichweighed uponyour back(3)

which weighed so heavily on your back,

94:4

And We raised highfor youyour reputation(4)

and elevated your renown for you?1

94:5

So indeedwiththe hardship(is) ease(5)

So, surely with hardship comes ease.

94:6

Indeedwiththe hardship(is) ease(6)

Surely with ˹that˺ hardship comes ˹more˺ ease.1

94:7

So whenyou have finishedthen labor hard(7)

So once you have fulfilled ˹your duty˺, strive ˹in devotion˺,

94:8

And toyour Lordturn your attention(8)

turning to your Lord ˹alone˺ with hope.

95. At-TinThe Fig

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful

95:1

By the figand the olive(1)

By the fig and the olive ˹of Jerusalem˺,

95:2

And (the) MountSinai(2)

and Mount Sinai,

95:3

And this[the] city[the] secure(3)

and this secure city ˹of Mecca˺!1

95:4

IndeedWe createdmanin(the) bestmould(4)

Indeed, We created humans in the best form.

95:5

ThenWe returned him(to the) lowest(of the) low(5)

But We will reduce them to the lowest of the low ˹in Hell˺,

95:6

Exceptthose whobelieveand dorighteous deedsthen for them(is a) rewardneverending(6)

except those who believe and do good—they will have a never-ending reward.

95:7

Then whatcauses you to denyafter (this)the judgmentﱿ(7)

Now, what makes you deny the ˹final˺ Judgment?

95:8

Is notAllah(the) Most Just(of) the Judges(8)

Is Allah not the most just of all judges?

96. Al-'AlaqThe Clot

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful

96:1

Readin (the) name(of) your Lordthe One Whocreated (1)

Read, ˹O Prophet,˺ in the Name of your Lord Who created—

96:2

He createdmanfroma clinging substance(2)

created humans from a clinging clot.1

96:3

Readand your Lord(is) the Most Generous(3)

Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous,

96:4

The One Whotaughtby the pen(4)

Who taught by the pen—

96:5

Taughtmanwhatnothe knew(5)

taught humanity what they knew not.1

96:6

NayIndeedmansurely transgresses(6)

Most certainly, one exceeds all bounds

96:7

Thathe sees himselfself-sufficient(7)

once they think they are self-sufficient.

96:8

Indeedtoyour Lord(is) the return(8)

˹But˺ surely to your Lord is the return ˹of all˺.

96:9

Have you seenthe one whoforbids(9)

Have you seen the man who prevents

96:10

A slavewhenhe prays(10)

a servant ˹of Ours˺ from praying?1

96:11

Have you seenifhe isupon[the] guidance(11)

What if this ˹servant˺ is ˹rightly˺ guided,

96:12

Orhe enjoins[of the] righteousness(12)

or encourages righteousness?
