100:6

ﱁIndeedﱂmankindﱃto his Lordﱄ(is) surely ungratefulﱅ(6)

Surely humankind is ungrateful to their Lord—

100:7

ﱆAnd indeed, heﱇonﱈthatﱉsurely (is) a witnessﱊ(7)

and they certainly attest to this—

100:8

ﱋAnd indeed heﱌin (the) loveﱍ(of) wealthﱎ(is) surely intenseﱏ(8)

and they are truly extreme in their love of ˹worldly˺ gains.

100:9

ﱐ ﱑBut does notﱒhe knowﱓwhenﱔwill be scatteredﱕwhatﱖ(is) inﱗthe gravesﱘ(9)

Do they not know that when the contents of the graves will be spilled out,

100:10

ﱙAnd is made apparentﱚwhatﱛ(is) inﱜthe breastsﱝ(10)

and the secrets of the hearts will be laid bare—

100:11

ﱞIndeedﱟtheir Lordﱠabout themﱡthat Dayﱢ(is) surely All-Awareﱣ(11)

surely their Lord is All-Aware of them on that Day.

101:1

ﱤThe Striking Calamityﱥ(1)

The Striking Disaster!

101:2

ﱦWhatﱧ(is) the Striking Calamityﱨ(2)

What is the Striking Disaster?

101:3

ﱩAnd whatﱪwill make you knowﱫwhatﱬ(is) the Striking Calamityﱭ(3)

And what will make you realize what the Striking Disaster is?

101:4

ﱮ(The) Dayﱯwill beﱰthe mankindﱱlike mothsﱲscatteredﱳ(4)

˹It is˺ the Day people will be like scattered moths,

101:5

ﱴAnd will beﱵthe mountainsﱶlike woolﱷfluffed upﱸ(5)

and the mountains will be like carded wool.

101:6

ﱹThen as forﱺ(him) whoseﱻ(are) heavyﱼhis scalesﱽ(6)

So as for those whose scale is heavy ˹with good deeds˺,

101:7

ﱾThen heﱿ(will be) inﲀa lifeﲁpleasantﲂ(7)

they will be in a life of bliss.

101:8

ﲃBut as forﲄ(him) whoseﲅ(are) lightﲆhis scalesﲇ(8)

And as for those whose scale is light,

101:9

ﲈHis abodeﲉ(will be the) Pitﲊ(9)

their home will be the abyss.

101:10

ﲋAnd whatﲌwill make you knowﲍwhatﲎit isﲏ(10)

And what will make you realize what that is?

101:11

ﲐA Fireﲑintensely hotﲒ(11)

˹It is˺ a scorching Fire.

102:1

ﲓDiverts youﲔthe competition to increaseﲕ(1)

Competition for more ˹gains˺ diverts you ˹from Allah˺,

102:2

ﲖUntilﲗyou visitﲘthe gravesﲙ(2)

until you end up in ˹your˺ graves.1

102:3

ﲚNayﲛSoonﲜyou will knowﲝ(3)

But no! You will soon come to know.

102:4

ﲞThenﲟnayﲠSoonﲡyou will knowﲢ(4)

Again, no! You will soon come to know.

102:5

ﲣNayﲤIfﲥyou knowﲦ(with) a knowledgeﲧ(of) certaintyﲨ(5)

Indeed, if you were to know ˹your fate˺ with certainty, ˹you would have acted differently˺.

102:6

ﲩSurely you will seeﲪthe Hellfireﲫ(6)

˹But˺ you will surely see the Hellfire.

102:7

ﲬThenﲭsurely you will see itﲮ(with the) eyeﲯ(of) certaintyﲰ(7)

Again, you will surely see it with the eye of certainty.

102:8

ﲱThenﲲsurely you will be askedﲳthat Dayﲴaboutﲵthe pleasuresﲶ(8)

Then, on that Day, you will definitely be questioned about ˹your worldly˺ pleasures.
